Alarm in the Lakers for the injury of LeBron James

LeBron James, leader of the Los Angeles Lakers, will miss his team's game on Tuesday against the Memphis Grizzlies due to a right foot injury suffered on Sunday and it is feared that he will be out for a long period. The Los Angeles star suffered the injury, without having any contact with a rival, in his team's victory this Sunday at the Dallas Mavericks field, in a game in which he continued to compete despite the pain.

The Lakers reported this Monday that LeBron against those of Tennessee and 'King James' expressed his frustration with a message on his social networks in which he attached a photo of his battered foot. Although the gold and purple franchise did not report the time needed for his recovery, the US media assures that James, 38, could be "down for several weeks."

The Lakers, twelfth in the West (29-32), have three consecutive victories and were struggling to reach the 'play-in' places, the prelude to entering the playoffs. For the Californian team, the most successful in the NBA along with the Boston Celtics, it would be a resounding failure to be left out of the tie for the ring.

The Lakers could be left out of the top eight in the West for the second straight season. There are 21 games left for the regular season to end and the Angelenos are one win away from the tenth position of the New Orleans Pelicans, the last one that gives access to the 'play in'. The eighth place that gives access to the playoffs is in the hands of the Utah Jazz, who have two more victories than the Lakers.

The Los Angeles team will face the Memphis Grizzlies, Oklahoma City Thunder, Minnesota Timberwolves and Golden State Warriors this week, these last three direct rivals in the fight for the 'play in' and the playoffs. LeBron is averaging 29.5 points, 8.4 rebounds and 6.9 assists this season, in which he became the NBA's all-time leading scorer.
