Alarm in Benidorm for a fire on the 17th floor of a skyscraper

The fire alarms of a 23-story building in Benidorm have gone off this morning. The fire was located inside a house located on the 17th floor of a tower on Montecarlo Avenue.

Upon arrival, the firefighters from the Alicante Provincial Consortium verified that the fire had spread outside the façade of the house, so that it was already affecting the floor immediately above.

According to the aforementioned consortium, "the extinction work has been laborious, since they have had to carry out a hydraulic installation with hoses through the exterior façade of the building, from the 17th floor to the public highway." Fortunately, only material damage has been regretted.

The Fire Department has had the collaboration of several units of the Benidorm Local Police, National Police, as well as several SAMU and S.V.B Ambulances, which have been activated as a preventive measure. The Provincial Consortium of Alicante Firefighters insists on reminding the communities of owners "the importance of carrying out the relevant hydraulic tests in order to confirm the state of operation of the dry columns in buildings over 24 meters high", as was the case.
