A worker was left in serious condition this Sunday, with severe burns, after receiving an electric shock while cleaning the windows of an industrial warehouse located in the Barcelona municipality of Olérdola (Alt Penedès).
The Generalitat Fire Department have reported that at 07:47 they have been notified of this accident, which occurred in the industrial warehouse located at number 48 Avenida del Cadí, in the Sant Pere Molalta industrial estate, owned by a company of removals.
The worker was cleaning the windows with a pole when he received a discharge from a high-voltage cable, which caused severe burns. Five crews from the Generalitat Fire Brigade, Mossos and the Emergency Medical System (SEM) have moved to the place, evacuating the seriously injured man to the Vall d'Hebron Hospital in Barcelona.
Fuentes de los Mossos have indicated that the Catalan police and the Department of Labor of the Generalitat will open an investigation to clarify the circumstances of this occupational accident.
