A baby, about 37 weeks pregnant, has been found in a garbage container in the Toledo town of Mocejón. The Civil Guard was the one who found the creature dead.
The events occurred on January 18 when that same night the woman arrived at the town's medical center, from where she was later transferred to the Toledo University Hospital, with serious blood loss. She denied that she was pregnant and claimed it was simple bleeding due to menstrual pain. The center's gynecologist, when she examined the woman, could see that it was a premature abortion, although her fetus was no longer inside her mother.
After calling the National Police, the agents arrived at the hospital to ascertain the story. Once informed, and having communicated what happened to the Civil Guard, they initiated the search order for the fetus.
A group of agents accompanied the mother to her home, where they found another of her children, a minor. According to ABC, the minor confessed to having been the one who cleaned and threw the fetus into a garbage bag that he would later deposit in a container near the residence, in Prado Park on Hermanos Quintero Street.
The Civil Guard is awaiting the results of the autopsy of the fetus to determine the cause of death and to know if the baby was alive or dead when it was thrown into the garbage container.
