The National Police have arrested a volleyball coach in the Madrid neighborhood of Aluche, a 50-year-old man who taught at a school, accused of allegedly sexually assaulting several girls and boys between 8 and 10 years old. The arrest occurred last Friday, January 19, after the parents of two of the alleged victims filed a complaint at the police station. Two days later, this man was brought before a court, which released him with certain precautionary measures.
One of those first complaints was from a mother who noticed injuries on the girl's vagina when she came home after that training session. "He took her to the bathroom with the excuse of measuring her and put his hand in her, he started touching her parts, and rubbing against her," she told La Sexta.
Later, this woman contacted other parents, who also reported that she had grabbed their daughters' private parts, touched them with the excuse of taking photographs or measuring them, or rubbed her genitals against the minors.
The investigation remains open, so there could be more victims. The arrested person had no record of sexual crimes, something that is an essential requirement to be able to work as a coach. He has already been removed from work.
