A movie house on a rock

The medieval farmhouse of Puig de la Balma, in the municipality of Mura, in Bages, is a fantastic corner. You can eat very well and visit the house museum, which is very interesting. In addition, it is a movie setting, since films such as Pa Negre or Bruc were filmed here.

It is also a place for action, where climbers put themselves to the test, as seen in these video images in La Vanguardia's Readers' Photos.

The Puig de la Balma forms a historical and cultural agrotourism complex. Farmhouse built in the 12th century under the grotto located in the heart of the Natural Park of Sant Llorenç del Munt i l'Obac.

Quality homemade food is cooked, with seasonal products from our own organic production such as vegetables, potatoes and lamb.

The farmhouse was built on the natural ledges of the rock located southwest of Mura, at 541.2 meters above sea level. It is known that, in the year 1278, Armengol de Bayeres, a soldier and feudal lord, bought a peasant establishment from a certain Guillem Barba that was known by the name of Espluga Mancada.

From then on, the period of greatest growth for the farmhouse was between the 14th and 15th centuries. The house still retains its Gothic windows and some walls built with dry stone.

The great charm of this place is that the different rooms take us back to past times, as if we were extras from other times. The rock literally penetrates the rooms of the house, as if it wanted to trap us inside forever.
