The National Police have arrested a 37-year-old man, a military police officer, in Madrid for allegedly detaining a woman in a hotel room and extorting her to give him money in exchange for not broadcasting her sexual videos.
According to El Periódico de España and police sources have confirmed, the arrest occurred last Wednesday after the 29-year-old woman reported the events, Efe reports.
According to the victim's story, she contacted a man through a dating messaging group and they supposedly agreed that she would pay him in exchange for him doing work that had been assigned to him as part of his studies.
These payments did not arrive and the man began to blackmail her by spreading intimate photos of him and videos of a sexual nature, so the woman, intimidated, transferred him 300 euros.
He also contacted another man through the same platform, with whom he did have a physical encounter. They met in a hotel located on Núñez de Balboa street, in the Salamanca district.
Once inside the room, the man showed her what he said was a police badge and assured her that he would arrest her if she did not pay the rest of the money to the first man, who he said was a friend of his who was doing a favor
At one point, he took the victim's phone and locked her in the room for a few hours, until she could be released.
The National Police believes that the two men with whom the victim, of Moroccan nationality, spoke, are the same person and are investigating this matter. She herself has not been able to corroborate it because she never met the first one in person.
In any case, the man who detained her and took her cell phone was arrested for these events.
He is a 37-year-old Spaniard with no previous criminal record who works as a military police agent, according to police sources.
