A 56-year-old man from Barcelona dies while climbing in the Aragonese Pyrenees

A 56-year-old man from Barcelona died this Sunday while climbing in Benasque, in the Aragonese Pyrenees. As reported by the Civil Guard, the victim fell into the void when he was climbing the Cresta de Llosàs, in the Ribagorça region, with a 47-year-old companion.

The emergency services received notification of the accident at 10:20 a.m., activated the Special Rescue Group for Intervention in the Mountains (GREIM) and asked the French Gendarmerie in Tarba for help.

Aerial means have located the man's lifeless body and a doctor has certified his death when they have rescued the body. The deceased has been transferred to the Forensic Anatomical Institute of Huesca.
