'EA Sports FC 24': Electronic Arts announces the date and news of the successor to 'FIFA'

EA Sports FC 24, the new installment of the popular soccer game known until now as FIFA, will go on sale on September 29 for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series, Nintendo Switch and PC.

Electronic Arts has announced the release date of the game and its news during a celebration that just took place. He has also released the first gameplay trailer and announced that Manchester City striker Erling Haaland will be the player to appear on the cover of the standard edition.

As usual in the franchise, the standard version of the game will be available on the official release date (September 29), but those who get the Ultimate Edition will be able to play early starting on September 22.

Women's football is increasingly represented in the game and one of the novelties of this installment will be the inclusion, for the first time in the franchise, of the Spanish League F. It was one of the women's leagues that still did not have official licenses in this popular title.

Another novelty related to women's soccer: this will be the first installment in which the popular FUT (Ultimate Team) mode will include women's teams.

EA Sports FC 24 will once again run on the Frostbite graphics engine that has given life to previous installments, but its developers assure that where the changes will be noticed will be in HyperMotion V, the new iteration of its animation system that allows information to be obtained of real soccer matches. According to Electronic Arts, more than 180 matches from competitions such as the UEFA Champions League, the Premier League or LaLiga have been scanned for the occasion.

Another interesting novelty, in this case for Nintendo Switch users, is that this version of the game will use the Frostbite graphics engine for the first time and will not bear the "Legacy" label. This is an important change, since the edition for this game console had been little more than a template update for years and it seems that this time it will include more significant news.

The name change from FIFA to EA Sports FC was announced in May 2022 and, although the reasons have not been officially revealed, it seems that it is due to the disagreement between the video game publisher and the sports federation for financial reasons.

As can also be seen in this new trailer, all the graphics of the new EA Sports FC brand fully coincide with the new visual identity of LaLiga, since from this 2022-23 season the Electronic Arts game is the official sponsor of the competition Spanish soccer.
