The poisoned dart of the French League mocking Piqué and Barça

The Champions League quarter-final tie between PSG and Barça is starting to heat up on social media. The morbidity was served - the return of Dembélé, the reunion of Ferran Torres with his ex-father-in-law Luis Enrique, or the clash against Mbappé - and Ligue 1 threw a poisoned dart at Barça and specifically at Gerard Piqué.

In the post from the official account of the French League in Spanish on the social network Barça's defeat against PSG at the Camp Nou in February 2021 by 1-4. The French striker scored three goals.

From the image and the accompanying text, "And thus the @KingsLeague was born", it is inferred that Piqué's retirement and the creation of his Kings League 7-a-side soccer competition were derived from that breakdown.

The Kings League's response, through its official X account (the old Twitter), was immediate. With wit and a similar dose of venom, he ridicules the French competition by remembering the Champions League titles he has accumulated.

With the emoticon of the doll that puts its index finger in its mouth asking for silence as the only text, the Kings League posts a photo of Piqué posing with the trophy of his competition, and the montage "x 4 Champions" that he has won in his career. Below, the Ligue 1 logo is accompanied by a "x 1 Champions", in reference to the only European Cup won by a French team, Olympique de Marseille in 1993.
