MotoGP releases a musical theme and a battery of novelties to attract an audience

Renew or die, MotoGP has put the batteries in this 2023 championship so as not to lose the battle of the audience against competitors such as Formula 1. Thus, from Dorna, the organizing company of the World Speed Championship since 1991, they have launched a battery of novelties for attract the public and give more spectacularity to the races and more proximity to the drivers.

Some of these novelties are inspired by actions that are already carried out in F1, such as the return to the circuit of the drivers by truck or the new Sprint races, the short races on Saturdays.

The most notable novelty, from the audiovisual and sound point of view, is the new title of the MotoGP World Championship, that is, the presentation titles on television, which is accompanied by a new symphony with epic and tense overtones. This header will be displayed at the start of each Grand Prix on the TV broadcast, as well as on the MotoGP networks, with the aim of making a "perfect call to action to fans around the world".

The melody is composed especially for MotoGP by New Yorker Marco Beltrami, Oscar nominee and Emmy winner, creator of the music for some of the films and franchises such as Scream, Resident Evil, Terminator 3, Live Free or Die Hard, World War Z, Yo Robot, 3:10 to Yuma or the Le Mans 66 automobile.

Another novelty that can already be seen in the paddock of the Algarve International Circuit, in Portimão, where the World Cup starts, is the creation of a "Hero walk". It is a kind of walkway through which the pilots of the three categories will pass from the parking lot where they arrive at the circuit to the paddock.

The "Hero Walk" is one of the measures in the style of Superbike to create more proximity of the pilots with the public. It was successfully launched at the 2022 Australian GP and was also tested at the last GP of the Valencian Community in Cheste.

Another of MotoGP's initiatives to win in close proximity to the fans is the "Rider Fan Parade", that is, the return to the circuit of the pilots. They will do it on the Sunday before the race (at 11:00 a.m. Spanish time) in a truck, just like Formula 1 drivers usually do before each race.

This activity is complemented by other local ones such as the assistance of the pilots to the Fan Zone to answer questions from the public, and the Pit-lane Walk (on Thursdays) in which the fans greet the pilots in front of the garages, with the possibility to photograph them and ask for autographs.

The luxury watch company Tissot, a MotoGP partner, has rewarded pole position for years with the gift of a watch to the fastest qualifying rider in each category. This year the gift will be delivered in public, in the parc fermé, before the fans of the circuit, at the end of each qualifying session on Saturdays.
