The MotoGP World Championship lands this weekend at the Philip Island circuit with everything to be decided. The Australian GP could be decisive for their fight for the title. The Italian Francesco "Pecco" Bagnaia (Ducati Desmosedici GP23) claimed victory and regained the lead in the Indonesian GP, after the fall of the Spanish Jorge Martín (Ducati Desmosedici GP23).
The Italian, who obtained his sixth victory of the season, has 346 points, compared to Martín's 328. Despite this setback, the Spaniard is optimistic about this new test: "We have to believe in it until we can hopefully win or until we don't win, we can't do more."
Martín wants to turn the page and has high hopes for the Australian GP. As he finished the last test, he remembered that he holds the record for the Phillip Island track. "I'm calm, and I have a very competitive bike. I have a base that works and I don't move from there, so morale is high," he says.
For his part, the Italian foresees a tough race: "Sunday's race can be quite demanding, very tough due to the conditions and the forecast, but I love driving here, it is one of my favorite circuits. The fast corners we have here are "Fantastic. I love Turn 1 and Turn 3. We'll see."
