Luis García: "No one is going to get off the boat"

The Espanyol coach, Luis García, stated this Friday, at the press conference prior to the LaLiga Santander match against Betis, that "nobody is going to get off the boat", and stressed that the dressing room is "responsible and aware" of the situation of the bloc, now in decline.

The coach, before the preparatory session at the RCDE Stadium, insisted that all the players are "very eager and excited" to get out of the hole.

"Among all of us we must help them to find their best version. Against Betis we have a golden opportunity and we must show, from minute one, what we are at stake," he added.

The Asturian coach stressed that the team must be "determinant" and have "very clear" ideas, both in this match and in the following ones: "We must go for the game, at every moment and in every action. Let us be the ones that we compete to the maximum, because we play a lot", he said.

Luis García pointed out that the block needs to be "brave and aggressive" and bet on verticality when it finds "free situations, spaces and players". Regarding Betis, the coach commented that he is a rival that "usually tries to have the ball" and attacks "with an inside game".

In addition, despite the "important losses" that, according to the blue and white coach, the opponent presents, it is a team with a deep game and with "mobility" in the offensive field.

In any case, Luis García explained that he has been able to work "calmly" this week and is confident of getting "a positive result" in Seville.

Regarding the casualties in the left lane of Espanyol, his coach avoided regrets: "Far from crying or looking for excuses, I am lucky to have a committed dressing room eager to help." In this sense, he advanced that Pedrosa, until now injured, can return to the team "very soon".

Asked by Sergi Darder, Luis García assured that Espanyol needs its captain "to build and better reach some spaces". In addition to extolling his virtues, the coach stressed that "many times" the Spaniard "takes more responsibility than his share".

Regarding the style book of the coaching staff, which seeks to play the ball more from behind, the Asturian argued that he must give his players "the best tools" to do so, and that they are perfectly qualified to carry it out.

"We are not crazy about an idea and we try to give the best information. They are players of the highest level", he sentenced.
