Iceta, on the 2030 World Cup: "The final is scheduled to be held in Spain"

Following FIFA's unexpected decision to hold the 2030 World Cup in six countries on three continents - Spain, Portugal, Morocco, Argentina, Uruguay and Paraguay - the acting Minister of Culture and Sports, Miquel Iceta, has shown his happiness and has stated that "the World Cup final is scheduled to be held in Spain."

This was stated by Iceta in an interview with Onda Cero, in the program Más de uno. Although it is played in six countries, only the opening matches will be played in America. The coordination of the competition will be carried out between the Football Federations of Spain, Portugal and Morocco.

Regarding this, Iceta has stated that work has been going on for a long time between the three federations and there is an advanced agreement on the distribution of the competition. Although Spain is well placed to host the final, he also recognizes that all national football federations will fight to host it.

Now, the minister emphasizes that it is up to the governments of each nation to "give guarantees that the federations are in a position to organize a tournament of these characteristics."

Now, without defining the calendar and locations, Iceta also points out that work will begin on other aspects, such as the logo or the mascot. The minister plans to "take a team of top designers" to carry out the work.

"Our goal is, sorry, to smash everything," the minister puts out his chest, taking as a reference the Barcelona '92 Olympic Games, called "the best in history."
