UEFA and Adidas presented this Wednesday in front of the Olympiastadion in Berlin the official ball of the German Euro 2024, "Fussballliebe", which incorporates for the first time for this competition the technology that helps video refereeing and is made with more sustainable biological materials.

"Fussballliebe", which means "love of football", has "Connected Ball" technology, to facilitate a view of each element of the movement and contribute to VAR decision-making, and is "designed for precision and consistency, supporting fast and precise play with maximum form and air retention," UEFA explained.

He also highlighted that, in addition to using recycled polyester and water-based ink, it is made with more sustainable biological materials than previous balls in the competition, since each of its layers includes materials such as corn fibers, sugar cane, pulp of wood and rubber.

Its design combines red, blue, green and orange tones, to celebrate "the vitality" of the participating teams, and includes illustrations of each of the tournament stadiums, along with the name of each host city.

Available today in stores, 1% of its net sales will be allocated to the "Common Goal" solidarity initiative, led by footballer Juan Mata, to collaborate with charities around the world that use sport as a tool to combat problems. and is a partner of the UEFA Foundation for Children.

This Wednesday's presentation opens a series of activities that will take place over five days at the Olympiastadion in Berlin linked to the Euro Cup and in the other nine host cities, which will receive 900 additional balls to donate to schools, football clubs and others. initiatives.

Euro 2024, whose draw will be held on December 2, will be played from June 14 to July 14 in ten cities in Germany: Berlin, Cologne, Dortmund, Düsseldorf, Frankfurt, Gelsenkirchen, Hamburg, Leipzig, Munich and Stuttgart.
