Vicent Marzà will be the Compromís candidate in the elections to the European Parliament

The deputy and deputy spokesperson for Compromís in Les Corts Valencianes, Vicent Marzà, has been chosen as the party's candidate for the elections to the European Parliament, so he will occupy third place on the list to join the elections on June 9 , which corresponds to the Valencian coalition after the agreement reached with Yolanda Díaz's formation.

This was announced this Saturday by Compromís through social networks, in a statement in which it thanked "everyone for participating in the only primaries open to all citizens." "Now we are working to bring a Valencian voice to the European Parliament," the group highlighted.

Marzà, who contested this position with the ex-deputy of the coalition in the European Parliament and ex-mayor of Burjassot, Jordi Sebastià, has obtained 5,234 votes, against Sebastià's 3,923. They are Yurena Hueso, with 1,997 votes; Sandra Ruiz, with 1,847, and Iona Sintimbrean, with 1,796.

For her part, Sandra Ruiz will be the second person from Compromís on the list for the European Parliament, the training has indicated through its social networks.

Last Monday, April 15, 72% of the Compromís militancy approved the decision to run alongside Sumar in the European elections in June, with a 38% participation in the consultation opened by the Valencian coalition after reaching an agreement with the party led by the second vice president of the Government, Yolanda Díaz.

Specifically, 72.06% voted in favor and 23.01 against, while 4.92% abstained. The consultation was open for three days, after the Més and Initiative bodies - the two main formations of the coalition - ratified the agreement.

The agreement with Sumar, reached on Thursday the 11th after weeks of intense negotiations, means that the representative of Compromís will occupy third place on the list, which in his opinion will guarantee him having a MEP.

The terms of the pact establish a common electoral program that includes "as shared" the demands of the Valencian Community and a "territorialized" campaign. The candidacy will be called Compromís-Sumar.
