Alcaraz - Gasquet: schedule and where to watch the first round match of the Australian Open on TV

The Spanish Carlos Alcaraz will start his journey at the 2024 Australian Open against the Frenchman Richard Gasquet. It will be the second confrontation between both tennis players. There is only one precedent and it was in the 2021 Umag ATP 250 final, in Croatia, when he won by a resounding double 6-2.

Alcaraz has become the only great Spanish hope in Australia, after the recent loss of his compatriot Rafael Nadal due to injury.

The Murcian tennis player will not have an easy road. He could face the American Tommy Paul in a hypothetical round of 16, the German Alexander Zverev in the quarterfinals and the Russian Daniil Medvedev in the semifinals.

Before, in the second round of the first major of the season, he could face the Englishman Daniel Evans or the Italian Lorenzo Sonego in the second round, two tennis players who will demand his best version.

Alcaraz will have the possibility of adding his first Australian Open and his third slam conquest after the Wimbledon 2023 and United States Open 2022 titles.

The first round match of the Australian Open between Carlos Alcaraz and Richard Gasquet will be played this Tuesday, January 16, no earlier than 8:15 p.m. local time, at 10:15 a.m. in Spain. The match can be seen on television on Eurosport and can also be followed live through the La Vanguardia website.
