The strong wind forces the closure of ski slopes in the Pyrenees

The wind storm with blizzards that register gusts that can exceed 100 kilometers per hour affects all the ski slopes in the Pyrenees, which have had to close all of their ski areas or restrict access to the high parts.

On the north face there is still precipitation and in general the drop in temperature has been drastic, reaching -7 °C. The weather forecast indicates that the wind will continue to blow strongly throughout the day this Sunday until early Monday morning and then gradually ease in the afternoon.

The majority of ski resorts have communicated this impact through social networks, which comes on the last day of the Christmas holiday period.

According to sources from Ferrocarriles de la Generalitat de Cataluña (FGC), Boí Taüll, in Alta Ribagorça, has had to close the entire station due to the strong wind. In the same way, he also had to close the entire Vallter domain, in Ripollès. In Pallars Sobirà, Puerto Ainé and Espot have closed the upper parts.

Likewise, Vall de Nuria has some parts closed and La Molina is also partially affected. Access in Tossa de Alp is closing and therefore the connection with Masella is not possible. This season also restricts some parts due to wind.

In Solsonès, Puerto del Conde can only open the area for beginners and the Rata con Nueva chairlift. Finally, Baqueira Beret has had to restrict access in the La Bonaigua area.
