Vox debuts the 'senyera' in its logo and will campaign in the PSC fiefdoms

Vox starts the campaign today under the motto “In self-defense” and with the incorporation for the first time in its electoral iconography of the Catalan flag. A decision, which, according to the candidate, Ignacio Garriga, wants to underline the need to preserve the identity of Catalonia from the threat of Islamism. And understanding that it is defended that “to be Catalan is to be Spanish” in a poster where the Spanish flag also appears.

Vox faces the elections with polls that suggest that they can withstand, even with some loss, the results of 2021, when the far-right formation burst into the Parliament with 11 seats. Garriga points out that the motto "in self-defense" - in Spanish and Catalan - wants to condense the idea that Catalonia "is on the limit due to the policies carried out by separatism and the PSC" in matters of "freedoms, social services, in security, in the rural world and, among other issues, the threat to our own traditions by Islamism.” Messages that will be forceful, it is noted, but that want to move away from the harsh tone used on many occasions to convey the idea of possible change.

Vox will do a good part of its campaign in the historically socialist fiefdoms, understanding that they are the areas that “have had the greatest impact of immigration and the lack of public services.” Garriga will open the campaign on Friday at the April Fair in the Parc del Fòrum and during the two weekends events will be held in the presence of Santiago Abascal, president of Vox.
