Together and ERC agree to form a government in Vilassar de Mar

After months of negotiations with the rest of the municipal political forces of Vilassar de Mar (Maresme), the JxCat municipal group has chosen to share government with the three ERC councilors, led by Marta Rovira. In this way, Mayor Laura Martínez Portell will have a large majority of 12 councilors.

Yesterday night the government agreement was confirmed in Vilassar de Mar for the 2023-2027 mandate signed by Junts per Catalunya and Esquerra Republicana. An agreement that is reflected in the 10 pages of the programmatic agreement agreed upon by the two local forces.

With the entry of the Republicans into the Vilassar de Mar government, the ERC candidate, Marta Rovira, will be the third deputy mayor and the Republicans will direct the Culture, Agriculture and Territorial Planning councils. On the other hand, the mayor, Laura Martínez Portell, only remains in charge of the Department of Communication and Press.

Shortly before the municipal elections, Laura Martínez Portell agreed with the Estimem Vilassar platform, of Alfons Núñez, to be included in the Junts per Catalunya electoral list. If you add to that the electoral debacle of ERC in the Maresme, which in Vilassar de Mar went from nine councilors in 2019 to three in the last elections, the final results gave a large majority of nine councilors to the post-convergents. Between the two formations there are eleven councilors.
