The words, what a festival

There are many literary festivals, yes, and more every day, but it is not usual for up to four to coincide in the same weekend, and the fact is that in addition to Lletraescena and the MOT, which started yesterday in Teià and Olot, respectively, the FLIC, of children's and youth literature and arts at the Design Hub in Barcelona, and also the Magical Domain of Poetry in Santa Coloma de Farners are celebrated on the one hand. The diversity of the literary fact, live.

Lletraescena, Teià's literature and theater festival, is in its third edition with several talks and shows. One of those that can be seen, today at the La Flor theater in La Palma, is El gigant del Pi, a monologue written and performed by Pau Vinyals, who defines it as "a creative process of finding the words of all silences that inhabit a family (...) An autofiction of the inheritance received, of an attempt to face the construction of a home". Last year he won the BBVA award for Theater and is starting a tour at the festival. A little while before, a book club will be held around the play Entrevistes breus a dones exceptionales, with the playwright Joan Yago and the director of the play, Mònica Bofill, moderated by Elisenda Guiu.

The bulk of the festival, however, will be on Saturday, and will begin with literary Itineraries dramatized by this population of the Maresme and a book market in the street, in addition to a family show around Moby Dick and conversations and readings morning and afternoon with the participation of Oriol Broggi, Albert Reverendo, Clara Segura, Espartac Peran, Marta Carnicero, Carlota Subirós, Victoria Szpunberg, Montse Vellvehí or Marc Artigau among others, to finish on Sunday morning with several acts such as Veïns, by Jordi Boixadós and Elies Barberà, authors in four hands of Àngels a l'andana in Popocatépl, or a performative poetry session by Salva Soler, Anaïs Falcó and Marc Vilajuana. In addition, as a novelty, two authors, the writer Ada Castells and the playwright Carles Batlle, have been invited to spend the weekend to get inspired and write a short piece.

The MOT, which takes place this weekend in Olot and the next in Girona, is dedicated this year to the so-called literatures of the self with talks with a multitude of authors curated by Xavier Pla, an expert in the field (last year dedicated to him the essay The soldier of Baltimore. Essays on literature and reality in times of self-fiction, published by Lleonard Muntaner). Thus, today, in the El Torín room, they will treat El jo adolorit (Josep Girós and Jaume Ferrer moderated by Gemma Ventura), Del jo al tu (Claudia Durastani and Miguel Ángel Hernández conducted by David Guzmán), and Saturday will start with the VerMOT , in Plaça de Braus, on El jo exposed (with Marta Pasqual, Mar Bosch and Toni Sala moderated by Anna Ballbona), and then, in El Torín, El jo politico (with Jordi Graupera and Ignacio Peyró moderated by Júlia Ojeda) and , finally, Who am I? (Héctor Abad Faciolince and Faura Ferrero led by Xavi Ayén).

Next week in Girona, from Thursday to Saturday at the Carles Rahola library (except for the VerMOT, in Guingueta de Fontajau park), the festival will continue with twenty participants and seven more talks.
