The last plenary session of Les Corts has evidenced the (electoral) tension between the parties and, also, between the partners of the Government. The positioning of the different parliamentary groups on delicate issues such as measures against prostitution and, above all, the 'Azud case' commission has ended up exploiting the Botànic.
After learning in the corridors of Parliament that his partners would vote with the right, the PSPV Organization Secretary, José Muñoz, has shown his discomfort and has accused Compromís and Podem of weaving "an alliance of interests" to try to "wear down" to his party on account of the investigation commission raised by the PP in the Valencian Parliament. An agreement that Muñoz has described as "dangerous" due to the fact of voting with the party that "is the most corrupt" in history.
In their previous statements, both the trustee of Unides Podem, Pilar Lima, and that of Compromís, Papi Robles, have shown their willingness to vote in favor of the commission. The purple spokeswoman has stressed that her training is committed to "zero tolerance" against corruption and that she will support any initiative to investigate it. Less direct, but also favorable to supporting the commission, it has been Robles who has left his vote in the air (the vote is this Thursday) since he is trying to get the PP to redo its proposal so that it is not limited to the part of the summary that affects to the PSPV. The popular spokesperson, María José Catalá, has advanced that they are willing to accept a modification of the text that allows investigating "the irregular financing of the PSPV or any other party."
These positions have generated a lot of discomfort in the socialist ranks who understand that they play into the hands of the PP in an "electoralist" proposal that will have no effect: it will not be possible to start up because next week Les Corts will be dissolved.
In this context, Muñoz has dropped another bomb. "It is unquestionable that after the elections Ximo Puig will continue to be president of the Generalitat, the only question is how." A statement that leaves the door open to a solo government without partners. Muñoz has indicated that the Socialists trust "in expanding their majority" to have "greater freedom." A message that had not yet been transferred these weeks. Asked if he would not bet on a reissue of the Botànic, Muñoz has been clear: "I bet on Ximo Puig as president of the Generalitat".
Some statements that have caught the attention of the partners who had indeed expressed their desire to reissue a third Botànic in the corridors of the Hemicycle.
And it is that the discrepancies between the three groups that support the executive have not stopped there. Both Compromís and Unides Podem have advanced that they will not support the proposal for legislative changes championed by Minister Gabriel Bravo and introduced in the last plenary session of the legislature by the socialist parliamentary group to move towards the abolition of prostitution.
A refusal to process the text by single reading in which, once again, the Socialists have been left alone since neither their partners nor the opposition have shown interest in supporting it, considering it to be a question with many edges that needs a calm debate. , participatory, with technical and legal reports and not hasty. "Today we are right and the rest are wrong", has replied the deputy Muñoz.
