The Police arrest an alleged terrorist willing to “wage Jihad” with firearms

The National Police has arrested a suspected terrorist in the town of Briviesca (Burgos), who had suffered a "strong radicalization process" in recent months. The arrested person, who has been sent to provisional prison, had openly expressed his intention to "wage Jihad" in Spain with violent action. His intention to obtain firearms has precipitated his arrest by agents of the General Information Commissariat.

The investigation, as reported by the National Police after the alleged terrorist was sent to prison, began at the beginning of this year when experts in the fight against terrorism detected an individual who consumed a large amount of radical and violent jihadist material.

The investigation revealed the advanced state of radicalization of the detainee, who viewed - en masse - a large amount of extremely violent and terrorist glorifying material.

The detainee would have tried to recruit other users whom he indoctrinated - through social networks - in jihadist theses, showing them videos from production companies related to DAESH that included beheadings or individual and group executions.

After verifying that the arrested man had shown himself to be obtaining firearms, the agents proceeded to arrest him in the early hours of last Tuesday. Two home searches were also carried out.

This Thursday he was placed at the disposal of the Central Court of Instruction number Five of the National Court, whose head has ordered his entry into prison. He is being investigated for his alleged participation in crimes of self-indoctrination with terrorist purposes, indoctrination of third parties and glorification of terrorism.
