The former mayor of Arenys de Mar (Maresme) by ERC, Annabel Moreno has been appointed new general director of Ports of the Generalitat, replacing Pere Vila. Moreno retired from active politics when he lost the mayor's office to JxCat.
As reported this Thursday by the Department of Territory of the Generalitat, Moreno was mayor of that town between April 2016 and June 2023 and has been a provincial deputy in the Diputació de Barcelona in the last term, between 2019 and 2023.
Born in Barcelona in 1973, this lawyer and politician was also vice president of the Associació de Municipalis per la Independència between 2018 and 2020. She graduated in law from the UB, has a master's degree in Administrative Law from the Barcelona Bar Association, with a postgraduate degree in Protection of minors, childhood and adoption from the UB and has undergraduate studies in Political Science and Administration.
