Sumar will present its legal framework plan for the amnesty on Tuesday in Barcelona

This Tuesday, the famous Ateneu Barcelonès will be the scene of the presentation of the Sumar plan, the platform led by Yolanda Díaz, to fit into the legal system an Amnesty law agreed between the progressive groups and the independentists for the investiture of Pedro Sánchez. Specifically, Sumar has had around twenty jurists led by former deputy Jaume Asens, who will explain their constitutional proposal in detail.

This was announced this Friday by Díaz herself, in an interview on TVE Catalunya in which she stressed that the amnesty does not mean recognizing that the State acted badly in 2017 because “there are many modalities” of it in the world, and “many configurations of which It is the interpretation.” And one may be that “we say there is a crime but we forgive some facts.” Of course, she did not want to answer whether in her opinion the independentistas committed crimes or not.

What it did do was ignore the “screen” that the right-wing “offensive” wanted to install that the amnesty is unconstitutional. He argued that the Spanish constituents decided to leave the amnesty out of the Constitution, as in Germany, and that is why “it will be the Constitutional Court that will decide whether this organic law is constitutional or not.”
