Sánchez, in Puigdemont: everyone pays what is theirs!

Let's forget about the minute and result that will overwhelm us in the coming weeks. We gain time by going to the hut. The price of the investment will be paid in half. So many heads, so many hats. Sánchez and Puigdemont will have to face the price of their contradictions and resignations. Free is not eaten. Only one of the two does not want to scratch his pocket, elections.

There will be an amnesty, we will see which one and in what form, and there will be no referendum. Sánchez's account includes the right on the streets, the traditional PSOE – with the exception of Margarita Robles, who would dance on top of a needle to remain a minister – angry, the official PSOE hot, but silent, and the risk of a legislature which will be a much more complicated pot of crickets – and it was already difficult – than the previous one.

Puigdemont will have to pay the price of the refusal of the referendum that weighs so heavily on his speech. The receipt that he has to pay, beyond the four, six, eight or one hundred thousand that will call him a traitor, also includes the risk of leaving free the political space of the most mountainous independence. In this political grid overgrown by the lack of a sense of reality, some Junts militants, prominent influencers and other characters live crowded together who make up a very varied border.

Regarding the first, those with a membership card with position and payroll, those who, to simplify, we could call borrasistas, it doesn't seem like there should be any problem. Having long since become political professionals, they will have no problem keeping quiet and getting behind the party's new strategy. If they used to say wheat, now they will say barley.

Outside the Junts circle, the edge includes personalist mini-spaces that, once Puigdemontism has re-entered ambitious autonomy, they may end up offering a new political space to pro-independence voters. Here is the president of the ANC, Dolors Feliu, former councilor Clara Ponsatí and Joan of Arc de Ripoll, Sílvia Orriols.

With Junts back on the playing field, something can be born from these confused spaces that continues to work on the science fiction genre with the lure of independence. Counting the Junts votes that could end up in this space is an impossible exercise, so it is enough to point out that the total, whatever it is, will also have to be paid by Puigdemont and his party. Esquerra has already bled what was due to him in this corner.

These are the bills that the two men who have to decide if Spain has a government have to pay in half. The theory must be taken for granted that if they have decided to sit at the table it is because they are both ready to make the gesture when the painful one arrives. Sánchez has already made it clear that he is. Puigdemont still plays the ronso, at least in public discourse.

The Spanish president has already paid for the appetizer – co-official languages in Congress, a request to the EU so that Catalan is also official in community institutions – and says he is ready to pay for the main course, the amnesty. In the hope, of course, that the TC, now in the hands of the left, does not mess up the rule. Maybe the one in Madrid will pay in addition to some of the drinks with some transfer and the promise of more money. But desserts, strong drinks, extras, coffees and cigars will go to Junts' account, just as in 2020 they went entirely to ERC's. Referendum? Self-determination? No. Nee, in Flemish.

At ERC, they are very uneasy about the possibility that Junts' inconsistencies will be more economical for Carles Puigdemont than theirs. They are afraid that Puigdemont's armored chassis will absorb all the impacts without a single scratch. Panic is not justified. The same people, from all fronts, who helped ERC to return to the playing field are now doing the same with Junts. Without any difference. In addition, governing the Generalitat thanks to the help of the PSC is no small feat. Only that it takes you out of the negotiating equation of the present. Every service comes with an invoice. And in Catalonia, for once ahead of the cliché, it is already known that we are very much in favor of everyone paying for what is theirs.
