PSPV and Compromís approach positions in the Valencia Provincial Council after the fight in Les Corts

The negotiating teams of the PSOE and Compromís have met this morning to advance in the negotiations to reach an agreement that enables a government of progress for the Provincial Council. A meeting that takes place 24 hours after the surprise in the constitution of Les Corts Valencianes ended up widening the gap between the two formations and with risqué comments on social networks.

On Monday, Compromís took advantage of the PP votes to manage to place one of its deputies in Les Corts to the detriment of the PSPV who thought that the position would be for them as they had more votes than their still members of the Botànic and did not expect that the PP would be to give the 18 votes necessary for it.

Finally, the move was successful and deputy Maria Josep Amigó was elected second secretary of the Bureau of the Parliament. Precisely, Amigó, who was vice president of the Diputación de Valencia, has been one of the representatives of Compromís at the meeting this Monday to negotiate the future of the deputation. Ivà Bonet, Josep Miquel Moya, Amadeu Mezquida and Nico Calabuig for Compromís were with the member of the Parliament Bureau. On the other side, representing the PSPV, Pilar Sarrión, Eloy Hidalgo, Jorge Vidal and Neus Garrigues, the same team that is also negotiating with La Vall Ens Uneix, the party of Jorge Rodríguez that holds the key to government.

In a statement, and despite the row yesterday in Les Corts, Compromís has reported that this first contact has ended "with good prospects that must be finalized soon."

Thus, they have wanted to underline that "in this first bilateral meeting between the two partner formations in the government of the Provincial Council in the legislature that is now ending, the harmony has materialized to continue with progressive policies begun two legislatures ago in the Provincial Council". This dialogue, they have indicated, will continue with the negotiations with La Vall ens Uneix.
