Polling station hours: Until what time can you vote in the 2024 Basque elections?

Next Sunday, April 21, the regional elections to the Basque Parliament will be held. Almost two million citizens will be able to vote to elect their representatives for the next four years. The inhabitants of the municipality will be able to go to the polls starting at 9 a.m., when the polling stations open their doors. These will remain open until 8:00 p.m., at which time access will be closed and the scrutiny of the results will begin.

In order to vote, you must be registered on the census list of Spanish voters residing in the Basque Country (CER). In addition, they must identify themselves using their DNI, passport or driving license. Likewise, the ballot can be deposited with expired documents as long as no doubts arise about the identity of the voter. However, the DNI processing receipt or photocopy of the documents cannot be used, since these must be originals.

According to the National Institute of Statistics (INE), 2,695 polling stations located in 724 locations will be set up in the Basque Country. To know which urn has been assigned to each of the citizens, there are two methods available.

The first is to wait for the census card to arrive at the voter's home, where the data of the assigned school and polling station are detailed. You can also check this information through the INE website. Through the official website of the organization you can find out the site by simply indicating the initial of the last name and the complete address of the voter's home.
