Meritxell Budó considers that a mediator is "indispensable" in the negotiations for the investiture

The president of the Catalan Association of Municipalities (ACM) and mayor of La Garriga (Barcelona) de Junts, Meritxell Budó, considers that a mediator is an element "indispensable to give any type of support" in the negotiations for the investiture of Pedro Sánchez .

"We want advance payment, we want evidence, we want guarantees to be able to move forward in these negotiations and, in that case, vote on the investiture," Budó warned, in an interview for Ràdio 4 and La2, and added that Sumar's current proposal on the amnesty law is a “first step” to resolve the conflict.

Despite this, the former Minister of the Presidency of the Generalitat has pointed out that "the amnesty is neither about specific events nor about names, it is about the resolution of a political conflict that involves a starting point, not an end."

"None of the two main parties of the Spanish State, neither PP nor PSOE" give guarantees, neither to ERC nor to Junts, Budó has stated, and that, therefore, he considers a mediating element necessary to be able to advance in the negotiations and create a trust framework.
