Feijóo sets the strategy for the PSOE with his parliamentarians and barons

The PP is preparing to face the "shameful concessions" of the PSOE to the pro-independence parties. It is a matter of coordinating the conservative party's response to the "cedings" of the acting president of the Spanish Government, Pedro Sánchez, with all the instruments that the formation led by Alberto Núñez Feijóo has at its disposal, from the parliamentary level to in the courts, as well as social protests, in the street.

To set the strategy, Feijóo met yesterday in his office at the PP headquarters on Carrer Génova in Madrid with the popular spokespersons in the Congress of Deputies, Cuca Gamarra; in the Senate, Javier Arenas, and in the European Parliament, Dolors Montserrat. In all these areas, the populists are already preparing initiatives to oppose all elements of the agreement between PSOE and ERC and the eventual pact with Junts.

If the PP has already submitted to the Senate a reform of the regulations, to try to delay the processing of the amnesty law, with the aim, says the general secretary of the PP, that the debate "be more calm and informed" than whatever is held in Congress, the parliamentary group is already working on several initiatives not only against the amnesty, but also against the other known agreements, such as the transfer of Rodalies and the remission of part of the Generalitat's debt.

To address these issues, Feijóo held talks yesterday with the regional presidents of the PP, in order to give a coordinated response.

As a result, the communities governed by the PP will request a meeting of the Fiscal and Financial Policy Council, so that this collegiate body will be the one to address possible debt reductions and, above all, propose the start of a negotiation "not bilateral, but multilateral", for new financing, so they reject the part of the agreement between PSOE and ERC that talks about a bilateral relationship to establish the future system.

The presidents of the PP will demand from the central government, if it is finally formed, the improvement of its funding, especially that of the communities considered underfunded: Murcia, Andalusia, Valencian Community, governed by the PP, to which is added Castilla-La Mancha. For this reason, the Andalusian president, Juanma Moreno, has asked that the same percentage as that of Catalonia's settlement, 20%, not be applied. If it were applied to Andalusia, it would be harmed, "as it has been - he affirmed - stricter in terms of public accounts".

The PP expects to see how the agreement with Junts is substantiated, because it is convinced that there will be other transfers, so the scope of action will have to be expanded.
