For the regional leader, today is "a bad day for Spain, for its democracy" and for the institutions because the "negative effects" of the amnesty will not "stop being felt for a long time."
"The Congress of Deputies, as you know, today is debating the taking into consideration of the Amnesty Law agreed upon by (Pedro) Sánchez with the pro-independence minority with the sole objective of exchanging and buying, rather, impunity for power," he noted. Ayuso, who has maintained that the legacy of this, which will be endured for generations, "is going to be very hard, for a long time, for the future of Spain."
And, for the president, this is about "the rule of law, the image of the Judiciary, the Security Forces and Bodies" and "a Magna Carta, the Constitution, which is going to be a reinterpreted text."
