The Regional Federation of the Republican Left in Maresme has held, this Tuesday night, in Arenys de Munt, the extraordinary assembly to elect the candidates of the region both in the elections to the Parliament of Catalonia on May 12, as in the of the European Parliament on June 9.

The event, which was attended by the president of the Generalitat, Pere Aragonès, who is active in the region, elected the mayor of Sant Cebrià de Vallalta, Albert Pla, as the first candidate on the republican list for the Parliament of Catalonia. After explaining his career, the man from Cebria has expressed his willingness to "serve without expecting anything in return" from the Catalan chamber, dedicating efforts and energy, just as he has been doing until now as mayor, a position that he has announced that he will leave when this term ends. mandate.

Plan takes over the responsibility of leading the Republican list in the county, from deputy Mònica Palacín. The woman from Pineda has been characterized by her work as a deputy in the Education Commission of the Parliament, and by her involvement and presence in the territory. Palacín has also promoted an essential feminist leadership in the party and in the region; virtues that the president of the regional federation, Marc Almendro, thanked her for.

The deputy and councilor of Pineda has also dedicated recognition to her fellow Maresme deputies with whom she has shared a parliamentary group, Najat Driouech (who has been re-elected as a candidate for Parliament for the Citizenship Sector) and Pau Morales (who will not repeat either, to be able to take care of the ERC Organization Secretariat full time). Albert Pla will be accompanied on the lists by Matarón councilor Anna Salicrú, who will occupy second place on the Maresme list. Salicrú is the current General Secretary of ERC's Audiovisual Communication sector. The list will be completed by the second deputy mayor of El Masnou, Sílvia Folch, the former mayor of Sant Andreu de Llavaneres y payés, Nani Mora, Lluïsa Fornas de Cabrils, and the former mayor of Òrrius, Jordi Rull.

The ERC assembly has also taken the opportunity to elect the representatives of Maresme on the lists for the European Parliament. In fact, this was the initial objective of the assembly, before early elections were called in the Parliament of Catalonia. The one chosen to accompany the current MEP Diana Riba, representing Maresme in Europe, is Jan Bosch de Doria from Mataroni. Bosch is an international relations advisor for Esquerra Republicana. As such, he is in charge of daily relations with other political parties and international actors, regular coordination with the Government of Catalonia, the EU political group Greens/EFA and representatives in the different legislative chambers (at the European level, Catalan and Spanish). He also holds a Master's Degree in Diplomacy and International Public Service specialized in Human Security. Along with the Mataron native will be the mayor of Cabrils, Maite Viñals, journalist and historian.
