The direction of the PP has changed, but they continue to rule the same. The popular president has designed a wide direction for the training, more than 20 people, with representation of all the tendencies of the party, led by Tellado and with Macarena Montesinos as his number two, but also by Álvaro Pérez as coordinator of commissions . Appointments that allow Feijóo to maintain total control from Genoa. Pérez, like Tellado, belongs to the closest circle of the PP leader, who took Galicia.
He is a member of what is known as the Galician clan, which is "the one who commands". This small team includes, in addition to Tellado and Pérez, Marta Varela, director of Feijóo's cabinet who, together with Mar Sánchez, director of the PP's projection and image area, exerts great influence on the president . The director of communication, Luis de la Matta, and one of his advisers, Marco J. Gómez, complete the group that, with the president of the Xunta, Alfonso Rueda, represent the highest power.
Rueda is not the only influential baron. The Andalusian Juanma Moreno, a friend of Feijóo, is one of his main pillars when it comes to making decisions, while Isabel Díaz Ayuso has increased her influence in the party by placing two collaborators in the new direction.
For his part, the president of Castilla y León, Alfonso Fernández Mañueco, has seen his weight in the leadership grow with the appointment of the spokeswoman in the Senate, Alicia García, and the deputy secretary of health and education, Ester Muñoz, and the Aragonese Jorge Azcón has Ana Alós in the management.
After the Galician clan, the Andalusian group is the one with the most influence. Elías Bendodo, who has ceased to be coordinator, is deputy secretary with the powers of electoral analysis and strategy that he had before, plus the coordination of regional and municipal policy. In this team there is also Juan Bravo as head of the economy and the incombustible Javier Arenas, who will be the main support of the spokeswoman in the Senate. Fúnez is, along with Esteban González Pons, a person of absolute confidence of the president of the PP. They arrived in Génova thanks to him, after Pablo Casado's crisis, and they seem more and more indispensable for Feijóo.
The party has been strengthened to face the task of opposition and preparation for the next electoral dates, and González Pons is Feijóo's right-hand man in everything to do with justice affairs, starting with the renewal of the CGPJ and the amnesty law.
