Strike at Ryanair: these are the flights canceled today Tuesday

The second consecutive week of strikes at Ryanair continues to have a minimal impact on Spanish air traffic. According to data from the USO union, convener of the strike together with Sitcpla, until 1:00 p.m. a total of 3 flights have been canceled and 99 have been delayed, a smaller affectation than that of previous days.

Palma de Mallorca, as in previous days, concentrates more cancellations than the rest of the airports, with 2 routes with Madrid cancelled. To them is added a Valencia-London Stansted.

In terms of delays, they are concentrated in Barcelona El Prat, with 33, and Palma de Mallorca, with 19. They are followed by Madrid and Malaga, with 10, and Alicante, with 8. There are also problems with delays in Girona, Seville, Valencia, Alicante, Santiago and Ibiza.

The status of Ryanair flights can be consulted at this link on the company's portal. As an alternative, it can be checked on the Aena Infovuelos portal.

The strikes will continue throughout July. In Ryanair stoppages are called until this Thursday and the next 25, 26, 27, 28 July. In addition, a new round of strikes is planned at Easyjet on July 29, 30 and 31.

According to sources from the USO union, the strikes are due to the discomfort of the crew, who demand the application of the collective agreement in force in Spain: 14 salary payments, 22 working days of vacation (and not 20 as Ryanair establishes) or abolish the model of subcontracting through agencies of the same group, among other issues.

In the event that travelers are affected by a cancellation of their flight due to the strike, they can exercise their rights to demand compensation. If the cancellation is the responsibility of the company -in the case of a strike it is- they can claim the compensation included in the 2004 European Regulation on the rights of airline passengers, which in this case provides compensation of between 250 and 600 euros if the cancellation has not been communicated within a minimum of 14 days.
