López disregards the agreement on the CGPJ despite the fact that he was the head of Justice of the PP

The Minister of the Presidency, Justice and the Interior of the Community of Madrid, Enrique López, has disregarded the supposed secret agreement of the previous leadership of Pablo Casado's PP with the Government to renew the General Council of the Judiciary by stating that he does not know how it was done "the transfer of information".

Who was responsible for Justice of the PP with Casado when the alleged pact took place, has refrained from giving any details, maintaining that his job was to "advise" on the matter but not "conclude agreements." Something that was taken care of, he has said, by the "responsible party".

"I do not know how this transfer of information has occurred, so I cannot comment on it. These things must be discussed within the party and not before the media," said López, who pointed out Sánchez as the "responsible" of the paralysis of the renovation of the judiciary.

The lack of explanations from López does not clarify the clash of versions that exists in the PP. While the previous management has pointed out that everything was reported in the transfer of powers, the current team emphasizes that Feijóo was unaware of this document.

The leadership of the PP sees a smear campaign against Feijóo and they have decided to urge the Government to change the interlocutor. And not only for the renewal of the governing body of the judges, but for everything they have to talk about. The popular argue that the Minister of the Presidency, Félix Bolaños, "is burnt out" as a negotiator, having been responsible for the leak that has blocked the talks.

López, in fact, has insisted on that line when transferring the responsibility to Pedro Sánchez: "He has to do something to put an end to the anomaly that supposes that we have the only governing body of the judges in Europe that is not elected directly by the judges ", The Madrid councilor has maintained in statements to the media after an act at the Royal Post House.

In his opinion, that Sánchez "give in" and start processing a legal reform to end this "democratic anomaly" would facilitate the renewal of the CGPJ.

The Madrid counselor has not avoided censuring that socialist members decline to direct the reform in that sense because they allege that "the conservatives will always win", since it is "a mistake" to describe the judges as "conservatives or progressives". "It's contempt for democracy, it's like saying we're not going to hold democratic elections because the PP is going to win," he said.
