The fan who suffered a cardiac arrest this Friday at Mestalla, in the run-up to the match between Valencia and Cádiz, died shortly after being transferred to a hospital, the Valencian club reported.
The 53-year-old fan was treated by the Cádiz medical services before being transferred to a hospital near the Mestalla stadium.
In a message on social networks, Valencia regretted "the sad news of the death of the Valencian supporter" and sent "a lot of strength and a huge hug for his family and friends."
The game started ten minutes late for this reason.
