The Lexus LBX comes with less size and more performance

The advanced mechanics, the new direction in the stylistic features and the conception of luxury make up the approach that Lexus puts forward thanks to the new LBX. The car, equipped with the new self-regulating electrical system, incorporates improvements in fuel consumption or the level of emissions without influencing the total pleasure of the brand's usual driving.

Lexus, which remains the leader in electrification in the premium car range, has rethought the Lexus Hybrid Drive system through aesthetic changes (reducing the weight and size of components), but also practical ones (fuel and emissions optimization). All of this perfectly composes what is known as Lexus Driving Signature, which brings together control, confidence and driving comfort.

Although it may seem small at first glance, the new three-cylinder engine maximizes the LBX's performance and efficiency with Formula 1-inspired updates, such as the ultra-lightweight piston design.

The 1.5 liter displacement is perfect for getting the best out of the self-regulating hybrid system. Lexus' warranty for this new release is 10 years or 185,000 kilometers, which guarantees the customer the usual durability and reliability.

The maximum power of the combined hybrid system is 136 HP / 100 kW, with a peak torque of 185Nm. It is expected to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 9.2 seconds, as well as to tow loads of up to 750 kg without problem.

The engine operates with exceptional thermal efficiency, meaning more energy is extracted from each drop of fuel to propel the vehicle. This is achieved thanks to high-speed combustion and minimizing losses due to friction. A variable cooling system helps quickly warm up the engine, automatically adjusting to operating conditions and external temperature.

The LBX has been designed to reduce rolling and engine noise and vibrations to a minimum, as demonstrated by the placement of counter-rotating axles in the engine block and the widespread use of acoustic materials that isolate the most strategic points of the vehicle from noise. .

The new hybrid battery has also had a big impact on the LBX's performance: by delivering more power, the combustion engine can operate at up to 20% lower speed. In addition to being highly positive in reducing fuel consumption, the behavior and mechanical noise better reflect the demands on the accelerator pedal.

Lexus' E-Four all-wheel drive system is available as an option on some LBX models. The addition of an additional electric motor on the rear axle automatically offers more grip and stability when needed, especially on slippery surfaces, when accelerating and when cornering, all aimed at a calmer and safer drive.
