In recent days, the community of Laguna de Duero, in Valladolid, has been immersed in a series of activities prior to the long-awaited Old Woman's Day, which took place on Wednesday, March 6. This festival took place in Los Valles.

As part of the festivities, the Tortilla Gastronomic Week was held from March 1 to 6. This initiative, promoted by the local City Council, invited the municipality's restaurants to present their versions of the tortilla characteristic of the festival.

The highlight of the celebration was on Wednesday, with the traditional parade that toured the main streets of the town starting at noon. The community gathered in Los Valles, where the main activities of the festive day were centered.

Prior to the main event, preparations began for the preparation of a large potato omelet with chorizo, which would then be tasted by the attendees. In addition, this year the celebration of the II Potato Tortilla Contest stood out, in which local cuisine enthusiasts participated, competing for the jury's recognition.

The most anticipated moment came at 4:30 p.m., with the celebration of popular games and the free distribution of the monumental tortilla prepared during the day. This gastronomic delight, made with 900 eggs and 300 kilos of ingredients, was distributed in 130 portions, adding a special touch to this festive day in Laguna de Duero. However, turning around such a culinary work was not an easy task, but the result was worth it.
