Primavera Sound announces new editions in Colombia and Paraguay

Those responsible for the Primavera Sound music festival have announced that the event will have new editions in Colombia and Paraguay, in a new step in the international expansion of the initiative.

The first edition of Primavera Sound Bogotá will take place in the Simón Bolívar Metropolitan Park on December 9 and 10 of this year, while in Paraguay, the chosen venue will be the Asunción Olympic Park, on December 7. Both appointments add to those that the Barcelona festival already does in South America. In this sense, this year will be the second in a row that there will also be in Argentina and Brazil.

Thus, Primavera Sound's journey to the other side of the Atlantic Ocean will begin in Buenos Aires on November 25 and 26, continue in Sao Paulo on December 2 and 3, continue in Asunción on the 7th of the same month and end in Bogotá on 9 and 10 also of December.

The director of Primavera Sound, Alfonso Lanza, has assured that they had wanted to create an event in Colombia for some time, "one of the vital points of the live music circuit" in Latin America, and that in Paraguay the one-day format is the ideal for landing in the country.

Likewise, the organizers of the festival promise, for the new editions, a confluence of "local and international talent", without giving more details about the poster.

In a Spanish key, the celebration of the Primavera Sound festival, which in its next edition will have two venues on consecutive weekends in Barcelona and Madrid, can be followed live thanks to Amazon Music with the broadcast of concerts, interviews and behind-the-scenes content .

The platform has announced this Wednesday that at the first stop in the Catalan capital, from June 1 to 3, viewers will be able to choose between two different channels that will cover a wide selection of performances by artists, with commentaries in English and subtitles in Spanish, for free on both Twitch and Prime Video.

During the second weekend, from June 8 to 10 in the City of Rock in Arganda del Rey, content will also be offered behind the scenes, talks with the bands and music on the Amazon Music Twitch channel, again live and this time in Spanish with English subtitles.

With almost identical lineups in both cities, Primavera Sound will offer concerts by top-level figures such as Depeche Mode, Kendrick Lamar, Blur and Rosalía, among others, in 2023.
