Guillem Gisbert has put music to his life after Manel with two songs as a preview of the album that he will publish in March of next year. These are Les dues torres and Waltzing Matilda, a sound recognizable to fans of the band that six months ago announced a long hiatus months after finishing the tour for the album Per la bona gent, the fifth album of the group that, throughout At the age of 16, he served as a reference for Catalan pop.
With the poetics that already characterized his previous group, Gisbert draws in Les dues torres an occlusive scenario that gradually opens until the final explosion, a song in permanent transformation, as defined by the note that accompanies the announcement of the new song, produced by Jordi Casadesús, member of La Iaia and producer of Núria Graham and Marem Ladson. The single is accompanied by a video clip made by David Junyent and Pau Muns and animated with artificial intelligence that introduces us to a dark office building where the filing cabinets become living beings that colonize the space.
Waltzing Matilda, a title reminiscent of jazz, is a song about “the noble art of walking and about love after love”, a song made with synthesizers with a happy pop sound that was produced by the Galician Anxo Ferreira, member of the dissolved Novedades Carminha, and current collaborator of the Asturian Sen Senra. The video clip for this song was directed by David Domingo, with whom the Manels collaborated in Boy Band, and who on this occasion has imagined a black and white walk through the streets of Barcelona.
