Concert, exhibition and cultural complicity to defend the Estellés Year

The Cent d'Estellés Civic Platform presented yesterday in Burjassot the beginning of the activities that commemorate the centenary of the birth of Vicent Andrés Estellés without any institutional representation. "We had already denounced that public institutions have made a declaration of war on Valencian culture, on Valencians," said singer Pau Alabajos, coordinator of the platform, yesterday.

It presented, in the Pati de les Sitges in the poet's hometown, some of the activities that have already been scheduled to celebrate an anniversary with certain vetoes. And the thing is that the Department of Culture directed by Vicente Barrera (Vox) has eliminated from public accounts the aid to the Chair that bears the author's name, a gesture that the vice president of the Council boasted about in parliamentary headquarters, not without criticism.

Since then, various entities -Bassot, Kulturcrítics, Cultural Action of the Valencian Country, Valencian School, Sambori Foundation, El Micalet Choral Society, Ovidi Montllor Collective, Ateneu de Bétera, Ca Revolta, El Tempir, Pen Català and the Association of Writers in the Catalan language have come together to outline a program, without help, that aims to celebrate the life of the poet in all the territories of the Catalan language.

Thus, there will be more than 50 locations that will host the celebration of "Nit Estellés", school meetings, plays, a traveling exhibition and a concert on September 7, for which the poster is still unknown, which aspires to bring together in the stage to those artists whose work, at some point, has had as its common thread the work of Estellés by the Col·lectiu Ovidi Montllor of music in Valencian.

Yesterday's event was attended by high school students, who read some of the poet's most emblematic poems, as well as the writer's family, who excitedly accompanied the organization to support a celebration that will be, if nothing changes, especially popular.
