Who is Rodrigo Nogueira, the sentimental scammer whose case is addressed by the docuseries 'The hunt for the enchanter'

This Wednesday, Telecinco launches one of its new bets for the newly launched 2023-2024 season. The Mediaset network will offer the docuseries The Charmer's Hunt in prime time, a program presented by Joaquín Prat that will address the case of sentimental fraudster Rodrigo Nogueira.

The documentary will talk about the man who was known for several years as the con man, in reference to the way he deceived his victims. Nogueira acted for more than two decades in the province of Pontevedra and to do so he used a multitude of different false identities, something that complicated his arrest.

The particularity in the case of this swindler, and which will be dealt with in full in The Charmer's Hunt, is that it was not money that motivated him to act in this way, but the psychological damage to those who were his victims. In total, there were several dozen women who fell for Rodrigo Nogueira's deceptions, with consequences that continue to this day.

The testimony of these victims was key to arresting the fraudster, something that took place at the end of 2018 after remaining in search and capture. More than 60 women collaborated with the courts to find Nogueira's real identity, although their effort was greater when they had to demonstrate that these lies, and the subsequent psychological abuse to which they were subjected, constituted a crime.

The hunt for the charmer will aim to learn in detail the modus operandi of Rodrigo Nogueira with his victims. Produced by Unicorn Content, this docuseries will have two episodes in which the victims' testimony will be key to solving the enigma.

In addition, Telecinco will offer a subsequent debate moderated by Joaquín Prat with the presence of various experts, such as the investigator of the Selva Orejón case, the journalist Mayka Navarro, the doctor and psychiatrist María Velasco, or the lawyer Juan Manuel Medina.
