The rebellion of the losers in 'selfie' mode: several nominations, but not once did they win the Goya

This Saturday night, February 10, Spanish cinema dresses up for the celebration of the 38th edition of the Goya Awards. On this occasion, the emblematic awards are celebrated at the Valladolid Fair. There are many outstanding moments that have left both the red carpet and the gala, but one of them has occurred in the first stages of the ceremony, when the hosts of the gala, Javier Calvo, Javier Ambrossi and Ana Belén, wanted to recognize all the actors and actresses who have not won a Goya, despite the large number of times they have been nominated.

"Do you have a face for a brother-in-law, are you nominated in case you don't get him?" Ana Belén began by asking. "We have been nominated for the Goya twice, and we have lost both, so we have some practice in losing," Javier Calvo said then. "Do you know how many times I have been nominated and I haven't won it?" the presenter said then. It was then that the other two drivers asked each other how many times. "Five," she said. "I came to think that they were giving me the Goya of honor to compensate," she said.

"There are many iconic lifelong actors, many magical roles that Goya has not had, let's do a small survey," Ambrossi said then. It was then that the director went in search of actors and actresses who had been nominated on more than one occasion, but who had never won the statuette. "I, like you, have two nominations, but zero Goyas," said Leonor Watling. Then, they turned to Tristan Ulloa and Loles León, with five and three nominations, respectively.

"I propose one thing, like they did Ellen's selfie at the Oscars, let's do like that selfie, but with a photo of Goyas pending," Ambrossi said. It was then that the couple of directors invited other nominees of the night who had already lost the opportunity to win the Goya in their respective categories to join this photo. Among them were Hugo Silva and Cayetana Guillén Cuervo, among others.

It was then that the presenters gathered the actors and actresses who had not won the Goya and asked Isabel Coixet to take the photograph. "Isabel, you are the woman with the most Goyas in Spanish cinema, with eight Goyas," said Calvo. At that time, the Physics or Chemistry actor asked anyone who felt that he could be part of the photo to join. "If someone feels that they have to put themselves in the photo, now is the time," he expressed. "Now or never, Goyas pending," said Ambrossi.

In the image, all the performers appear with a sad face and holding a supposedly invisible Goya while saying 'Valladolid'. Without a doubt, it was one of the most outstanding and fun moments of the night.
