The life of Mexican artist Peso Pluma (real name Hassan Emilio Kabande Laija) could be in danger. The renowned artist was allegedly threatened by the organized crime group Cartel Jalisco Nueva Generación (CJNG), a Mexican drug cartel dedicated to drug trafficking and arms trafficking founded in 2007. The group also left three other of these "narcomantas" in various parts of the city, a few kilometers from the border port of San Ysidro, which were found by the National Guard and the Tijuana Municipal Police.
Given the seriousness of the situation, Edgar Mendoza, regional prosecutor in Tijuana, confirmed to the media the appearance of these blankets and announced that the corresponding investigations are already being carried out, in addition that there is a person detained for these events, who is accused of terrorism and possession of psychotropic substances.

The mayor of Tijuana, Montserrat Caballero, has also spoken to the media about this delicate situation, confirming that they will evaluate whether or not to cancel the event after the investigations carried out by the State Attorney General's Office (FGE).
"We do not know if they are from organized crime or not, because it could also be a citizen who does not like this music, however, the investigation is already in the Prosecutor's Office and with that investigation in hand we will consider in the coming days whether we continue with the concert or No, for the singer's safety, but, above all, for the people of Tijuana," he said.
The mayor also took the opportunity to emphasize how important the responsibility of both artists and citizens is regarding the content of the lyrics and possible apologies for criminal crimes.
