Lady Amelia Spencer walked down the aisle with Greg Mallet on March 21 and now the newlyweds are enjoying the first leg of their honeymoon in the Maldives. The niece of Princess Diana of Wales has shared some images on her Instagram that show that the couple is having a great time these days.
The hotel that the couple has chosen to spend these days in the Maldives is Coco Bodu Hithi Resort, located on a small island just 40 minutes from Malé International Airport. On the web they describe it as an elegant retreat where you can reconnect with yourself, with your loved ones and with the wonder of the natural environment that the island offers.
"The first days of our magical honeymoon", Amelia Spencer has written in the publication in which she has labeled the hotel where she has spent a few days. Her sisters have also commented on that post wishing Amelia a happy honeymoon. "So so so beautiful, what a dream honeymoon!" Her twin sister, Lady Eliza Spencer, commented on the post. In the same post, her older sister, Lady Kitty Spencer, wrote: "This place looks amazing! Wow! Honeymoon of dreams."
Amelia and Greg were married in a mountaintop ceremony near Cape Town, a setting that held a lot of meaning for them as the couple met in South Africa while studying at the University of Cape Town. "Growing up here together for the last 14 years, all of my and Greg's happiest moments as a couple are here. Now it's even more special," Amelia told Hello!
Despite being first cousins of Princes Guillermo and Enrique, they did not attend their wedding, probably due to the distance. But this branch of the entire Spencer family did attend Harry's wedding to Meghan Markle in 2018. Amelia is the daughter of Charles Spencer, Princess Diana's well-known brother, and his first wife, model Victoria Aitken (Lockwood, maiden). Before Diana's death, the couple moved with their four children to South Africa in 1995 to avoid harassment from the media.
