The appearance of Mario Casas in 'The Body on Fire' that no one has noticed

Body on Fire is breaking all kinds of records on Netflix. The fiction, starring Úrsula Corberó, is based on the heartbreaking real case that a few years ago focused all the attention of the press in Spain: three Barcelona police officers involved in a love triangle that ended in tragedy when one of them, Pedro Rodríguez, ended up murdered.

Úrsula Corberó steps into the shoes of Rosa Peral, who was in a relationship with Rodríguez at the time of her death, as well as with Albert López, another co-worker. According to the evidence, both killed Rodríguez. A series starring Corberó, Quim Gutiérrez (López) and José Manuel Poga (Rodríguez) in the main roles; but in which an actor that no one expected has entered: Mario Casas.

Mario Casas is one of Úrsula Corberó's great friends, so he could not be "missing" in this new success for the actress. The actor and director, however, does not appear in person, but on television.

At one point in the series, Casas enters the macabre story in a scene, in which Rosa Peral is watching him in his role as Hache in Three Meters Above Heaven, a film based on the very famous novel by Federico Moccia and in which he starred. along with María Valverde, who gave life to Babi.

The story of the film, coincidentally, is about how a couple of teenagers from opposite worlds fall in love. An impossible and inevitable love, which ends up dragging them into doing the unthinkable so that that great love triumphs. Something like what Peral perhaps thought at the time.

Pedro Rodríguez, who was 38 years old at the time of his death, was a traffic agent for the Urban Police when he began a relationship with Rosa Peral in 2016. A romance that took place at full speed, as they very soon went to live together in Vilanova i la Geltrú. A jealous, aggressive and impulsive man, according to Peral, whom she had mistreated on several occasions.

Albert López entered Rosa Peral's life in 2012, and they lived an intermittent relationship since then, including the time she was married to Rubén, the father of her daughters - and whom they would later try to pin on Rodríguez's murder. Rosa and Pedro's romance, however, would have been the last straw for López.

What was initially going to be a collaboration in which both would gain something from Pedro's murder, ended up becoming a war of blame between Rosa and Albert. No one confessed, but the evidence spoke for itself: it was a premeditated rhyme that had the objective of getting rid of Pedro Rodríguez who was hindering their relationship.

Both are in prison, sentenced to 25 (Peral) and 20 years (López), respectively.
