Shannen Doherty reveals that her cancer has spread to her bones: “I don't want to die”

"I'm not done living yet. I don't want to die." This is how forceful the actress Shannen Doherty is despite having received the worst news: the cancer she suffers from has already spread to her bones.

The actress, known for her roles as Brenda Walsh and Prue Halliwell in the now legendary series 90210: The Feeling and Charmed; She stars on the cover of this week's People magazine, giving an extensive interview where she reveals, among other things, that she doesn't want to die.

At 52 years old, the actress was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2020, five years after having gone through the disease. A cancer that is already in stage four and that has expanded to her bones, after a few months ago the actress herself revealed very excitedly that the metastasis had reached her brain.

"When you ask yourself: 'Why me? Why do I have cancer'; and then: 'Why has my cancer come back? Why am I in stage four'?... That makes you look for a greater purpose in life," he explains to the aforementioned publication.

The actress cannot believe that, at this point and with the amount of advances that exist in science, there is still no cure for this disease. Therefore, she is dedicated to raising funds so that there are more resources for research and to help millions of people around the world.

"I'm not done with living. Nor with loving. I'm not done with creating. Nor with the hope of changing things for the better. I'm simply not finished," she says. What's more, day after day she strives to demonstrate precisely that. "People assume that this means not being able to walk, not being able to eat, not being able to work... They retire you very quickly: 'You're done, you're retired,' and no, we're not," she says.

For the actress, living with the disease is simply adapting to another way of seeing the world. "We are vibrant and we have a very different view of the world. We are people who want to work, embrace life and move forward," he explains, adding that they are precisely the ones who are most eager because "you give thanks for every second, every hour, every day we managed to be here."

Since her diagnosis, in addition to receiving the appropriate treatments, the actress has made a point of not stopping doing things. She will soon launch a podcast (Let's Be Clear With Shannen Doherty, December 6 on iHeart Radio) in which she will talk about her health, but also about her career in Hollywood or curiosities about her life.

In addition, she continues to be very active on social networks, where she reports on her status and connects with her friends, colleagues and followers, who have not stopped encouraging her since she began this complicated adventure.

"My best memory is yet to come," he insists. "I pray. I get up and go to bed thanking God, praying for the things that matter to me without asking too much."
