Sergio Rico and Alba Silva are expecting their first child after a very difficult year: "This news is a gift"

On May 28, 2023, Sergio Rico suffered an accident with a horse during the El Rocío pilgrimage, Huelva. This episode caused a head injury that caused him to be in a coma for weeks and to be admitted to the Virgen del Rocío Hospital in Seville for months.

Throughout that time, Rico's family stayed by his side without distractions. His wife, the influencer Alba Silva, demonstrated great fortitude and vital force, since she spent hours and hours with the soccer player in the private clinic while she attended to the media, friends asking questions, etc.

After a long recovery process in which he improved little by little thanks to the extreme attention of the health workers at the Andalusian hospital, the Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper left the medical clinic to continue his rehabilitation at home with his family.

Since then, the elite athlete and his wife have communicated with their fans and followers through social networks and have shown that the footballer has almost completely resumed his life and that they are both more in love and happier than ever.

The magazine Hello! has exclusively published in its latest issue that Alba Silva is pregnant and that, if everything goes well, the couple will have their first child at the end of 2024. ''After everything we have been through, this news is a gift, especially for Sergio, who is very excited,'' explains Silva in the medium dedicated to the gossip press and social chronicle.

The young woman explained in the publication that it took them a long time to announce the news because they wanted to be cautious: ''Before Sergio's accident we lost a baby. Now we are afraid that it could happen again. "We are nervous, but very excited."

Last January, Rico gave an interview to DAZN in which he opened up and explained that he is almost recovered and that he feels how his body is returning to what it was before: ''The truth is that I feel very well ( ...) I would say I have recovered 90 percent. ''They talk about the aneurysm, which is still a little open. "It has 2.7 millimeters left to close." Despite the tough episode he experienced, the Sevillian hopes to return to the field of play as soon as possible.
