The murder of Edwin Arrieta allegedly at the hands of the young Spanish chef Daniel Sancho has become one of the main topics of the year. For months, the crime occupied headlines, debate tables and gatherings, since Thailand (the place where the events occurred) could sentence the accused to the death penalty, which is still in force in the country and is applicable to certain cases of premeditated murder.
Sancho initially pleaded guilty and collaborated with the authorities of the Thai country to find some parts of the doctor's body. However, once he entered provisional prison, the alleged murderer changed his version and assured that it was an accident and that at no time did he want to end the life of his companion.
The case also gained a lot of national relevance because Daniel Sancho is the son of Rodolfo Sancho, one of the Spanish actors most acclaimed by critics and viewers. The interpreter played a very important role for weeks, since he visited his son in Thailand and made different statements to the media that went viral.
Another of the main protagonists of the case is Silvia Bronchalo, mother of the accused who also visited him in Asia and who, as it turned out, did not have a good relationship with Rodolfo Sancho, her ex.
A little over a week ago, Caso Abierto, Prensa Ibérica's investigative channel, revealed that the analyst had gone to a police station in Alcobendas to file a complaint against her ex-partner. Bronchalo denounced Rodolfo Sancho for having "insulted and harassed" him through WhatsApp messages.

''There is evidence, in the possession of our client Mr. Rodolfo Sancho Aguirre, that does reliably demonstrate serious threats and insults by Mrs. Silvia Bronchalo Santos, which are not only limited to her person, but are also extended to her lawyers. and where an express threat is made towards his partner, his daughter, a minor, and the professional career of our client," the legal document says.
Last Thursday, February 22, the parties went to court for the corresponding comparison before the judge of the messages that would have given rise to the complaint. At the end of the hearing, Marcos García-Montes (Sancho's lawyer) attended the program Let's see and explained that they did not understand anything and that they were not going to give statements. Furthermore, he pointed out that it was the other party who had called the press in the morning.
''It makes no sense and on that date we will request a dismissal because there is not even the slightest criminal act. This is the domino effect for I don't know what reason,' the lawyer stated and later expressed his admiration for Sancho and how he is acting with the issue of his son Daniel Sancho.
