Last Friday, February 9, Antonio Tejado was arrested by the Civil Guard after being accused of belonging to a criminal organization of Portuguese origin that was dedicated to theft of homes in Seville, among which would be his own aunt's house, María del Monte, who suffered an assault last August.
After spending 72 hours in the Civil Guard cells, this Monday, the judge ordered the entry into provisional prison of Antonio Tejado, accused of being the intellectual author of the violent assault on his aunt's home and many others in the province of Seville.
But although this case has grabbed a multitude of headlines in the vast majority of the media, this is not the first controversy carried out by Antonio Tejado. María del Monte's nephew has been in the eye of the hurricane for years due to his continuous controversies linked to his romantic relationships, his participation in different television programs or his addiction to drugs and alcohol.
Antonio Tejado was the son of María del Monte's brother, Juan Carlos Tejado. However, the former television collaborator became popularly known thanks to the relationship of just one year that he had with Rosario Mohedano, Rocío Jurado's niece, with whom he had a son, who is currently fifteen years old. It was after his stormy breakup with Rosa Benito's daughter that María del Monte's nephew began to appear on television sets to talk about his controversial courtship.
In 2011, life was going to give him another chance at love with Alba Muñoz, with whom he had his first daughter, Emma. But the beautiful love story came to an end five years later. After that, María del Monte's nephew began to make a name for himself in different television programs, participating in renowned reality shows such as Supervivientes or GH DÚO.
In the sentimental sphere, the former contestant was linked at that time with different famous faces such as Ylenia or Candela Acevedo, with whom he ended up battling in court. But his busy love life wasn't the only thing that marked his life at that time. His addiction to drugs and alcohol was the trigger for one of his worst moments, as he revealed in 2019 to Lecturas magazine. And María del Monte's nephew experienced a serious episode with these substances, as he went "three days without sleep on cocaine and whiskey." An extreme situation that could have had serious consequences.
However, the former Survivor contestant suffered a hard blow again in 2021 with the death of his father, Juan Carlos Tejado, who lost his life fighting the coronavirus in one of the worst moments of the pandemic. After all his controversies, Antonio Tejado moved away from the world of television and the media spotlight and began a quiet life with Samara Terrón, a 28-year-old girl with whom he has shown himself most in love through social networks.
